To guide the visualization process here are a few changes likely to occur in the future:

Visualising the future of the bonsai is a most pleasurable exercise. Apart from the joys of daydreaming, it provides important insights into what the design of the tree can or should be. Drawing out the tree or tracing it out from a photograph or scanning a picture into a graphics program, and then gradually adding the details of the future, familiarizes and trains the eye.
As we pen in alternative scenarios, removing, rearranging, rounding out, many details of the tree that were overlooked become evident. Abstract elements such as line and balance become concrete. Finer distinctions of colour and texture can be explored and we can make informed choices rather than take shots in the dark.
